Zurich Insurance Group executive committee member Amanda Blanc (pictured) has resigned.
The industry bigwig, who previously held the position of UK & Ireland chief executive at AXA and currently serves as chair of the Association of British Insurers, came onboard Zurich in October 2018 as CEO for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
No further details were provided when the major insurer made the announcement, only that Blanc – who is also Zurich’s chief executive of global bank distribution – has tendered her resignation. It is not clear whether the move is effective immediately.
“We appreciate Amanda’s contributions during her time with us, in particular as we drive innovation throughout the business and introduce an enhanced culture of service for our customers,” commented group CEO Mario Greco. “Our business in EMEA is performing well under the strong leadership of our country CEOs.”
Zurich, which has expressed its gratitude and wishes Blanc “every success in her future endeavours,” said a successor will be named in due course.
