Delta Insurance, an underwriting agency, had recently announced the opening of an office in Christchurch. In a press release, the agency said that the new office poised to serve the South Island marked its next move in expanding throughout the country.
“We’ve successfully established a thriving business in the South Island with local team members to a point where a dedicated office will assist service delivery to brokers and allow for further growth as demand ramps up,” said Andrew Beaton, CEO of Delta Insurance.
“Opening an office is indicative of the support Delta has received from our broker network and we are very grateful for that. Our great new office is [a] show of our commitment to the South Island market,” said Ben Gainsford, the newly assigned southern regional manager.
In his new position, Gainsford is set to lead the team in Christchurch. He said that the current team was made up of four people which included Kelly Stephen, Liz Kirby, and Lara Fuller. They will be offering a multi-line capability servicing Delta’s property and liability lines.
Gainsford further said that the market in South Island was driving the demand for the agency’s property and liability products, with cybersecurity insurance also increasing in demand.
“Natural disasters, weather events and increasingly, criminal activity, are just a couple of the ever-
present hazards faced by every business. Delta’s policy is targeted at those running offices and other
commercial operations, providing peace of mind, which will get things back on track quickly,” Gainsford said.
“As useful as the internet and technology are, our reliance on these resources represents risk exposure. Delta has earned a reputation as a careful underwriter helping Kiwi businesses mitigate their cyber risk with an appropriate cybersecurity posture, backed by a sound insurance policy,” he said.
The agency said that the new office will reflect the demand for its property and specialised liability policies which included professional indemnity, technology, manufacturing, cyber liability, and environmental liability solutions, among others.
“As a niche underwriting agency, we look to break new ground in terms of what can be insured and offer a range of unique products which are gaining traction with brokers and their customers,” Beaton said.
“Delta covers more than 30,000 risks and we have so much expertise across the organisation and partners,” Gainsford said. “All that expertise is at the disposal of our brokers and customers, helping find the best solutions for effective underwriting, risk management, and crucially at claims time.”
