Swiss Re has appointed Lloyd Campbell-Gibson to lead its life and health operations in Australia and New Zealand, bringing over three decades of global insurance experience to the role.
Campbell-Gibson previously served as head of life and health claims US, a position he has held since 2016.
His career at Swiss Re includes leadership roles as head of pricing Africa and head of life and health client markets Africa, where he spearheaded pricing strategies and market expansion initiatives across the continent.
"The New Zealand and Australian markets have always been an integral part of Swiss Re's business, and we remain committed to bringing our knowledge and expertise to support our clients' business aspirations," said Daisy Ning, head of L&H APAC ex. China.
Ning expressed confidence that Campbell-Gibson's "extensive expertise and strategic vision will be a tremendous asset to the team."
As part of the leadership transition, Michael Paff, who served as interim head L&H Australia and New Zealand, will take on a new role as head of client management L&H ANZ.
This appointment is part of Swiss Re's strategy to strengthen its presence in the region.
Last month, Swiss Re elected new board members, Morten Hübbe and George Quinn as part of its plans to be discussed during their annual general meeting, to be held on April 11.
Hübbe was a former CEO of Tryg, Scandinavia’s largest non-life insurer. He held the position from 2011 to 2023, while previously serving as the group’s CFO from 2002 to 2011.
