If there was ever any doubt as to how serious Sedgwick is about its international growth strategy, then its latest set of key appointments will offer certainty.
First off, the Memphis-headquartered claims management giant has promoted Paul White to deputy chief executive in the UK. The former chief operating officer will continue to support UK CEO Stewart Steel while playing a wider role in managing and developing the British unit.
Commenting on the promotion, Steel described his new deputy as a great asset.
Meanwhile, two major hires have been tapped to further boost the group’s global workforce.
Named as COO for Europe is Jessica Reimers, who brings more than 25 years of experience in the insurance and claims business. Sedgwick has also brought in Stephen Raper, whose credentials include time spent at other global loss adjusting firms.
Raper will serve as finance director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and will be in charge of setting strategic direction and managing cross-cultural teams. The goal is to optimise operational efficiencies and create what Sedgwick called “a culture of profitable growth” for its international business.
“I offer my congratulations to Paul on his new role and am pleased to welcome Jessica and Stephen to Sedgwick’s outstanding international leadership team,” commented Ian V. Muress, chief executive of international operations.
“Together, we will continue to develop our global business and build strong relationships with existing and future clients. Sedgwick is well positioned for sustained growth, and I am excited for our future.”
Sedgwick employs more than 21,000 people across 65 countries.
