Kantar’s Corporate Reputation Index 2023 has been released, and only two New Zealand insurers made the top 10 for most reputable brands in Aotearoa.
Ranked through the index, AA Insurance placed seventh on the list with a score of 107, while Southern Cross placed ninth with a score of 106.
The index is based on Kantar’s globally validated RepZ framework, ranking companies based on trust (36%), responsibility (17%), leadership/success (25%), and fairness (22%). A score of 105 and above would mean that the company is resilient under the category.
AA Insurance scored 109 for its leadership, the highest score it achieved, while scoring 103 on responsibility, its lowest. Meanwhile, Southern Cross reached its peak for trust at 110, while achieving its lowest rank for fairness at 102. Southern Cross’ trust figure also put it fourth in the category overall, only falling behind Toyota, Mitre 10, and Air New Zealand.
Despite only having two firms to represent in the industry, corporate reputation for the insurance sector has risen for 2023 from last year, as revealed by the index. This is in stark contrast to other industries in the country, which fell on trust measures, including airlines, infrastructure/transport, petrol, food services, and banks.
AA Insurance is an insurance regular for this yearly index. In 2020, the insurer topped the customer experience rankings, edging out over 50 other Kiwi brands in the process.
