Provincial Insurance Brokers has come on board as a gold sponsor for Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History, which is celebrating its 50th birthday on October 11.
The broker network, which serves domestic, rural and commercial clients in the Wairarapa and Wellington, has committed to a three-year sponsorship of the museum. Provincial Insurance Brokers senior associate and broker Briar Toop said the network is thrilled about the partnership.
“I am truly proud to be part of the Aratoi family,” Toop said. “Director Mike Weeks and I are passionate about our community and feel that art and history bind a community.”
Toop, who also serves as a committee member of the Friends of Aratoi and oversees the museum’s volunteer programme, added that Aratoi has captured her imagination and enthusiasm over the past 12 months.
“This sponsorship, which is for the next three years, will enable our hard-working team to continue to stage exhibitions, to deliver high quality education programmes, and to go towards general operational costs,” Aratoi director Susanna Shadbolt said.

Meanwhile, Aratoi regional trust chair Barb Roydhouse called the sponsorship “a wonderful gesture of financial help to a vibrant museum.”
As part of its 50th birthday celebration, Aratoi will hold an exhibition starting August 16. A free education programme will run alongside the exhibition, and a publication will be launched on October 11.
