PIC Insurance Brokers has formalised a new partnership as the official insurance sponsor and a hole sponsor for “Chasing the Fox,” a fast-paced golf event scheduled for Dec. 13 at Royal Auckland & Grange Golf Club.
The annual event combines a unique six-hole Ambrose format with an informal, social atmosphere that diverges from traditional golf, bringing together top golfers and well-known public figures, including professional golfer Ryan Fox.
Participants this year will include athletes from the All Blacks, Warriors, Black Caps, and other high-profile figures.
Bruce Morrison, interim CEO of PIC Insurance Brokers, said the sponsorship aligns with the brokerage’s commitment to community engagement and the positive role of sports in New Zealand.
“At PIC, we believe in the power of sport to inspire, unite, and transform lives, so we are thrilled to be part of Chasing the Fox in 2024,” he said.
In addition, PIC is collaborating with Steve Williams, known for his long career as a caddy to Tiger Woods, who will join the event as an honorary advisor.
Morrison said Williams’s background in the sport will offer insights to competitors at the PIC-sponsored hole, enriching the experience for players and fans alike.
“PIC Insurance Brokers provides great advice to our clients every day, so we are excited to have the most successful golf caddy in history, Steve Williams, onboard to provide great advice to golfers as they navigate the PIC hole at Chasing the Fox,” he said.
The Chasing the Fox event will be aired live across New Zealand through free-to-air television, and tickets are available via the event’s website.
The sponsorship follows PIC Insurance Brokers’ strategic agreement with real estate company, RE/MAX New Zealand.
As part of this collaboration, PIC will become the exclusive insurance broker for the RE/MAX network, which has operated in New Zealand since 2003 and currently manages 18 franchises across the country.
John Chandler, PIC’s chief commercial and client officer, said he sees the alliance as an opportunity to deliver “a fully integrated insurance advisory service” to RE/MAX agents and their clients.
RE/MAX New Zealand CEO Mala Maharaj described the partnership as an advancement for the real estate network.
“We are thrilled to present this opportunity to our salespeople, broker owners, and clients, providing them with comprehensive insurance solutions in a convenient, one-stop shop. This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to enhancing the services we offer and supporting our community,” she said.
