PartnerRe has appointed Garry Xue as head of Australia/New Zealand for its life & health business.
In this role, Xue will be responsible for developing and growing PartnerRe’s life & health business in Australia and New Zealand, the company said in a statement. He will be based in the Hong Kong office and will report to John Mok, CEO, life & health Asia-Pacific.

Xue has 14 years of experience in the industry, and has held a variety of actuarial roles including in valuation, capital and pricing in both insurance and reinsurance. He joins PartnerRe from Swiss Re Australia, where he spent the last two years as head of group pricing and was responsible for executing its group strategy in Australia. Prior to that, Xue worked as senior director of Aon Reinsurance Solutions, where he managed the reinsurance brokerage business in Australia/New Zealand and Taiwan. Xue is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, and a graduate of the University of New South Wales.
