Nominations are now open for the 2022 Financial Advice New Zealand awards, which will be announced at the 2022 Financial Advice NZ Conference in Christchurch on 6 September.
Professional membership organisation Financial Advice NZ recognises and promotes excellence in financial advice to consumers, industry-related stakeholders, and the public. The awards present an opportunity for the sector to come together to celebrate the outstanding work of Aotearoa’s financial advisers and support staff in their commitment to the profession and the community.
Financial Advice NZ members can nominate themselves, their employees, or peers in the sector for one of up to 16 awards from five different categories.
The Service to the Profession award recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the financial services sector and has gone the extra mile to champion or enhance the profession. SHARE’s Richard Thomas earned this award last year.
The Outstanding Adviser award recognises members who help Kiwis achieve financial wellbeing through outstanding financial advice and professional excellence. It was given to Daniel Smithwood of IronOak in 2021.
The Rising Star award rewards the brightest new talent in advice amongst members who deliver an exceptional client experience and show commitment to professional and personal development. Last year’s winner was Lauren Hunter of Mike Pero Mortgages.
The Outstanding Support Person award – given to ANZ’s Sharyn Pask last year – celebrates individuals who demonstrate exceptional adviser support and ongoing commitment to the sector.
Finally, the Community Service award recognises members who have made a meaningful impact to the financial wellbeing – and lives – of people in the community. Katrina Studholme of Total Wealth and Zebunisso Alimova of Mike Pero won this award in 2021.
Entries for the 2022 Financial Advice New Zealand awards close on 15 July.
