Late last year, insurance brokerage Frank Risk Management opened up a new branch in Auckland, and new operation head Anna Parker (pictured) says she was ‘blown away’ by the level of customer care shown by Frank Risk’s team, which ultimately cemented her decision to join the firm.
Parker is a former insurance lawyer who most recently held the role of senior broker at Crombie Lockwood, but she says Frank Risk offered her the chance to join an “exciting disruptor” in the industry – particularly when it comes to culture and client care.

“When I was nominated for the ANZIIF young insurance professional of the year award, I organised a lunch for all the finalists to meet each other, and that was when I met Rene Swindley who was one of the founders of Frank Risk Management,” Parker told Insurance Business.
“I was blown away by his passion for helping clients, and when I found out that Frank Risk was New Zealand’s first broking and risk management company to provide full income disclosure to all its clients, I knew Frank Risk was the company that most aligned with my values.”
“I had been on parental leave after having my first child and approached Rene about the possibility of joining Frank Risk,” she explained. “I then met with several other team members and I was thrilled at what I saw and how their culture is based around doing what is right for their clients.”
Parker specialises in commercial insurance, and deals with policies ranging from technical liability risks to fire & general insurance. She says that helping clients is the biggest draw of the job, and that her experience as an insurance lawyer has really underpinned her love of helping businesses protect against risks.
“I genuinely love helping clients and it is so inspiring to work alongside others who feel the same,” Parker said. “Being able to use my insurance lawyer background and claims expertise to help businesses is incredibly rewarding.
“Who wouldn’t want to be part of such an exciting disruptor in the industry, and I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to build on such a solid foundation. It’s pretty buzzy working with such enthusiastic and motivated individuals, I’m excited to see the positive change we can affect.”
