Global insurer’s new head of A&H
ACE Group has appointed Canadian Lesley Jacques to the role of head of Accident & Health – Australia & New Zealand.
Jacques is currently serving as vice president underwriting & strategic business development for A&H for ACE in Canada but will relocate to Sydney to commence her new role in the coming weeks.
Prior to starting with ACE in 2007, Jacques was a principal in the human resources consulting practice for
Mercer, responsible for the special risks A&H portfolio. She was also a senior consultant at
Aon in Canada and has held underwriting management positions in the UK.
In Australia and New Zealand, Jacques will lead ACE’s activities in corporate A&H, direct marketing and travel insurance.
Country president for ACE in Australia and New Zealand, John French, said: “Lesley brings outstanding credentials to the role with an impressive record of success at ACE in Canada.
“It was important for us to appoint an individual who is capable of taking our A&H business to new levels of growth and portfolio management while ensuring consistently high levels of service to our partners.”
The announcement follows the appointment last month of
Shane Greene as A&H manager for New Zealand.
Broker network’s new EGM for NZ
Steadfast has appointed executive general manager
Allan Reynolds as EGM New Zealand and Direct.
The announcement follows the November launch of the company’s
new line of retail insurance products – Steadfast Direct - and New Zealand acquisitions, the most recent of which was
Allied Insurance Group in July.
With Reynolds’ focus turning to these two initiatives, Steadfast has also appointed ex-
Zurich man Nick Cook as GM – partners & broker services after he joined the company in February as a consultant.
