Zurich has announced the appointment of a new CEO for the business in Asia Pacific.
Jack Howell has been appointed to the role, effective September 1, and will report to global group CEO Mario Greco.
American Howell joins the business from
Generali, where he was regional officer for Asia since early 2015 and brings more than two decades worth of experience to the insurer.
“Jack’s extensive experience coupled with his leadership capabilities make him the ideal person to strengthen our position in Asia Pacific, where we see exciting potential to develop our business,” Greco said.
“He will continue to build our presence in the region and drive profitable growth.”
Howell, who will be based in Hong Kong, has worked throughout the Asia Pacific region with stints in the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia with
AIG and Prudential.
Current CEO and interim of the Asia Pac business, Stuart Spencer, “will remain in the region working closely” with Howell, Zurich said in a statement.
