Star Insurance Specialists has become an official partner of the Project Cars 2 NZ Championship, breaking new ground as one of the first non-endemic sponsors to support an event in Australasia.
The Kiwi insurance company says it’s “proud to make its mark” on New Zealand’s thriving eSports industry as the headline sponsor of the event, broadcast by LetsPlay.Live.
“We’re excited to bring motor racing enthusiasts together in a new digital arena,” says Star Insurance Specialists CEO Nicholas Baker. “We enjoy exploring new opportunities to connect with our customers, who appreciate our innovative products, and deliver on our promise to create extraordinary insurance for Kiwis with exceptional vehicles.”
“As a specialist insurance company, we’re excited to be involved in something new,” says Baker. “eSports has an unrecognised mass-market attraction, and a lot of our products are tailored towards motor-sport enthusiasts.”
Baker says that this sponsorship will be a great way of reaching millennial clients who retain the previous generation’s passion for motor vehicles, and who have become heavily involved in in the digital space.
“The older generation of baby boomers spent a lot of time on classic cars from a mechanical sense, but there’s a younger generation that also shares a great passion for performance vehicles,” says Baker. “One of their passions is being involved in the eSports fraternity, so this is a great way of tapping into that demographic.”
Star Insurance Specialists operates in the niche vehicle area, offering products that cover motorcycles, prestige, classic and European cars. Its primary client base consists of insurance brokers and members of IBANZ, who utilise Star’s expertise in the niche vehicle insurance space.
