A distributor of computer and technology products is gearing up to launch two new lifecycle services – a new managed services option and an insurance service – in a bid to keep customers engaged throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Ingram Micro New Zealand has yet to release full details of the new services, which will form part of the technology distributor’s lifecycle and services division, but, according to ChannelLife NZ, the insurance offering is set to launch within the next three months and will be focused primarily on phones, tablets, and laptops initially.
The new managed services offering will then follow, enabling resellers to sell equipment on a subscription basis, and allowing them to take technology investments away from capital investments.
Amit Jamnadas, lifecycle services business solutions manager at Ingram Micro New Zealand, said the company provides pre-configuration work, including imaging, user settings, and IP address settings.
“What we’re taking away from the resellers is the manual setup. Their teams can focus on the more profitable side of their business which could be in consulting and integration and things like that,” he told the tech website.
