IAG New Zealand Limited (IAG NZ) has bolstered its board with the addition of three non-executive directors: Michele Embling (pictured left), Rachel Walsh (pictured centre), and Scott Pickering (pictured right), effective February 8, 2024, contingent on the fulfillment of all relevant regulatory conditions.
IAG NZ board chair Simon Allen expressed confidence in the new directors: “I am pleased to welcome Michele, Rachel, and Scott to the board. Their inclusion will bring fresh insights and vigour, and I look forward to our board discussions and their contributions.”
Embling’s portfolio includes her current roles across various organisations, such as AIA New Zealand, Transpower, and Toitū Tahua – The Centre for Sustainable Finance, in addition to her involvement with the Financial Reporting Council (FRC).
Embling leads as the chair of the External Reporting Board (XRB) and holds the position of deputy chair at the University of Auckland’s Business School Advisory Board.
Walsh brings to the table her governance expertise, currently serving as a director on the NZX and participating in the External Reporting Board Advisory Panel (XRAP). Her career has spanned several senior positions, including CFO roles at Datacom Group and Abano Healthcare Group, with her experience covering the finance, technology, healthcare, and infrastructure sectors.
Pickering rounds out the trio of new appointments, with his ongoing involvement on the IAG Group board and as a non-executive director at Kiwibank. His previous experience includes directorships at Chubb Insurance in both New Zealand and Australia and leading the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) as CEO from 2013 to 2021.
