One of the biggest names in the health insurance landscape,
Bupa, has announced what it believes to be a ground breaking new deal that could “transform the healthcare experience worldwide.”
The healthcare company, which employs more than 80,000 people worldwide, including here in New Zealand, has formed a partnership with HealthTap, the world’s first health operating system that is powered by a large network of interactive doctors and artificial intelligence. The latter operates in 174 countries via video, voice, and text chat with more than 108,000 doctors.
According to Evelyn Bourke, Bupa’s group CEO, the partnership will allow HealthTap’s AI powered apps to boost the digital experience of Bupa customers.
“I believe our partnership with HealthTap will deliver truly innovative healthcare solutions to improve the lives of Bupa customers globally,” she said. “Over the past year we have worked together to implement a number of solutions for day-to-day customer needs, such as easily finding local doctors covered by Bupa insurance, scheduling physiotherapy, immunisations, and doctor visits with local clinics, and connecting residents in our care homes with doctors by video chat. Together we bring world-leading digital health and care experiences to our customers, while saving costs, and delivering efficiencies for healthcare providers.”
Ron Gutman, the founder and CEO of HealthTap, added that the two companies share the same mission and can “help millions everywhere live healthier, happier, longer lives.”
