Why insurance?
It gave me an opportunity for a career change that allowed me to use the skills I had learned as a tradesman panelbeater in a more intellectual environment.

How would you change the industry?
Compulsory training for those joining the industry to ensure all have a good basic understanding of insurance and a good knowledge of the specific area they work within.

Best advice you’ve ever been given?
Always know your subject matter.

If you were prime minister for one day, what would you do?
Immediately approve costs and the building of a second Auckland Harbour Crossing (tunnel) with monorail train system attached.

What’s the biggest challenge facing the industry today? 
Trying to balance the escalating cost of providing cover in the face of the ever increasing and ever-changing compliance requirements all industries are having to deal with.

What’s been the highlight of your career?
The formation and success of Indie Assessing Limited.

What’s your favourite style of coffee?
Cappuccino one sugar with chocolate on top in a large takeaway cup.

Union, league or soccer or other?
Played them all but follow the NRL fervently.

If you could invite three people to dinner, dead or alive, and excluding family or friends, who would they be and why? 
Keith Moon, George Best, Billy Connolly has the makings of a big night out.
