Finity, an independent actuarial and strategic analytics firm in Australia and New Zealand, has announced its attainment of the ISO 27001 certification. In a statement, the company said it was committed to maintaining the highest standards of security for its clients and partners following the receipt of this internationally recognised standard for information security management systems (ISMS).
ISO 27001 sets out best practices for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving an ISMS. By securing this certification, Finity has demonstrated its compliance with stringent security protocols designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.
“Finity has always observed the highest standards of information security – for us, attaining ISO 27001 certification is a demonstration of this,” said Dirk van Rensburg, chief technology officer at Finity. “Data is core to the Finity business, and this certification reflects our unwavering commitment to information security and our proactive approach to safeguarding sensitive data. It assures our clients and partners that we are dedicated to maintaining the most rigorous security standards in every aspect of our operations.”
To achieve the certification, Finity underwent an exhaustive audit by an independent certification body. The audit assessed Finity’s ISMS and its alignment with ISO 27001 standards, evaluating key areas such as risk management, data protection, and operational security procedures.
As part of its focus on continuous improvement, Finity has integrated the ISO 27001 framework into its day-to-day operations. This includes conducting regular audits, performing risk assessments, and providing employee training to ensure continued compliance and adaptability to emerging security threats.
“We are embedding the ISO 27001 framework into our organisational culture, which enables us to provide an even higher level of service and security for our clients,” van Rensburg said. “This certification not only enhances our internal processes but also reinforces the trust our clients place in us.”
