In an announcement made following the company’s annual general meeting earlier this week, Financial Advice New Zealand introduced a new director to its board.
The membership voted Sonja Barrett as the member director – risk for a three-year term, succeeding Cecilia Farrow, whose tenure has concluded.
With a career in the financial services sector dating back to 2000, Barrett is presently self-employed, operating under the SHARE FAP, offering advice on risk and KiwiSaver investments. She holds positions as a director at Habitat for Humanity, chairperson for Migrant Connections Taranaki Charitable Trust, and a JP.
Heather Roy, chair of the board, expressed the board’s anticipation of collaborating with Barrett over the upcoming three years, aiming to propel the growth and success of Financial Advice NZ.
“We also thank Cecilia Farrow for her five years on the board. Cecilia was an inaugural director of Financial Advice New Zealand and her industry knowledge alongside the wisdom she provided has been much appreciated,” Roy said.
Elsewhere for the Kiwi association, current chief executive Katrina Shanks recently announced her upcoming departure from Financial Advice NZ this November.
