Major Kiwi insurance and risk advisory firm Donaldson Brown now has Stefan Azzopardi (pictured) at the helm in his capacity as chief executive.
“I am thrilled to join the talented team at Donaldson Brown,” Azzopardi said in an emailed release. “I have been impressed by the company’s innovative approach to risk advisory and insurance and its unwavering commitment to delivering conflict-free, transparent advice to its customers.
“I look forward to working with the team to build on the company’s success and drive growth.”
As highlighted on Azzopardi’s LinkedIn profile, he is the first to take on the position of CEO at the biggest 100% locally owned brokerage. The move comes amid what was described as significant organic growth at the firm, which was co-founded by Dan Donaldson and Alex Brown in 2014.
Lifting the lid on the appointment, the founding partners said in a joint statement: “His experience, leadership, and vision will be instrumental in taking Donaldson Brown to the next level, and we look forward to working closely with him.”
Azzopardi made the switch from Southern Cross Health Society where he served as chief finance and risk officer. According to Donaldson Brown, the new boss was picked following a “very thorough” process.
