DLA Piper partner Katie Carson has been recognised as the exclusive winner of the legal services Banking Category for New Zealand by the International Client Choice Awards. This is the second year in a row that she has won the award.
Carson joined the DLA Piper New Zealand financial services team in May 2017, with 20 years of broad transactional and regulatory experience in the domestic and international financial markets.
According to DLA Piper, the award recognises Carson’s commitment to outstanding client service. “Katie is passionate about working with clients as part of the team, bringing clarity and strategy to complex problems,” it said.
“This is prestigious recognition on a global scale of Katie’s excellent contribution to service in the banking and finance sector in New Zealand,” DLA Piper country managing partner in New Zealand Martin Wiseman noted. “She’s simply outstanding.”
The Client Choice Awards, established worldwide 13 years ago, are convened by the International Law Office in association with international law news provider Lexology. It identifies and recognises law firms and partners worldwide who have demonstrated an ability to add real value to clients’ businesses.
The idea is that nominees can only be promoted by in-house counsel (clients) and it is done without the knowledge of the nominee. Clients are then asked to rate individual lawyers and law firms on quality of advice, commercial awareness, industry knowledge and strategic thinking. Shortlisted candidates are then asked to submit client referees.
Winners are regarded as the “best-of-the-best” among lawyers worldwide for the client care and the quality of their service.
