Delta International has announced a minority investment from Evergreen Partners, a private investment firm, as part of a strategic partnership aimed at expanding its presence in New Zealand, Australia, and Asia.
The transaction, effective Feb. 18, represents a long-term collaboration between the two firms, though financial details remain confidential.
As part of the agreement, Amy Ellis, a director at Evergreen Partners, will take a non-executive board position at Delta. She brings experience in corporate finance, business strategy, and expansion planning, which Delta expects will enhance its governance and leadership structure.
Evergreen Partners director Simon Plowman said the firm had been following Delta’s market development and saw alignment in their business values and strategic direction.
“Evergreen Partners has a track record of supporting growing businesses, and there is a clear alignment between our organisations in terms of vision and values,” he said.
Delta Insurance Group CEO Kent Chaplin stated that Evergreen’s involvement reinforces the company’s standing in the Asia-Pacific insurance sector.
“We are excited about the growth, market innovation, and expansion opportunities this partnership will bring,” he said.
He highlighted the company’s strong growth trajectory, as reflected in its inclusion in the Financial Times High-Growth Companies Asia Pacific 2024 Special Report and AM Best’s PA-2 (Excellent) Performance Assessment over the last three years.
Ellis noted that Delta’s expansion strategy, particularly in emerging insurance markets, presents opportunities for further innovation.
“Delta is a forward-thinking organisation with a strong foundation, and I look forward to contributing to its continued success, particularly in advancing strategic initiatives and innovation,” she said.
The investment follows Delta Insurance Australia’s recent entry into the accident and health (A&H) insurance sector, marking an expansion of its service offerings.
In February 2025, Delta Insurance Australia launched a suite of A&H insurance products targeting businesses, contractors, and volunteers across multiple industries.
The new products include:
Delta’s group personal accident and sickness insurance includes coverage for full-time employees, company directors, voluntary workers, and those requiring journey injury protection.
The development of the A&H portfolio is led by Sophie Wunsch, a senior underwriter at Delta Insurance Australia with extensive experience in underwriting and broking.
