CFC Underwriting introduces new CEO

Insurance News

There has been a major change at the top of CFC Underwriting.

The specialist insurance provider announced today that Graeme Newman (pictured) would assume the role of CEO, while company founder and present chief executive Dave Walsh moves into the role of group CEO, effective immediately, subject to regulatory approval.

Newman is set to lead all aspects of the underwriting business in London – including those around its operations functions, technology and data. Meanwhile, Walsh will oversee its global offices.

“Over the past 13 years, Graeme has been the driving force behind one of our core product lines – cyber – and has overseen the expansion of our cutting-edge technology platform, among his many other valuable contributions,” commented Walsh. “This appointment is a natural progression for both Graeme and for CFC and we couldn’t be more excited about the future of the business under his leadership.”

It was noted that CFC has more than doubled its headcount during the last three years, thanks largely to acquisitions and growth across the US, UK and Australia. The business now boasts more than 500 staff across five global offices and supports over 100,000 customers in 90 countries.

“It is an incredibly exciting time at CFC as we embark on an ambitious, technology-driven roadmap,” said Newman. “It’s a privilege to continue serving CFC as its new CEO and I look forward to working closely with the team to achieve our goals.”
