Beazley has announced that underwriter Andrew Page (pictured) has joined the insurer’s healthcare team to write a range of international miscellaneous medical risks outside the United States.
In his new role, Page will underwrite medical malpractice and liability cover for clients including hospitals, out-of-hours services, clinical laboratories, blood banks, clinical researchers, medical spas, behavioral health and humanitarian relief organisations. His book will also include Beazley’s virtual care policy, which provides cover for health apps, wearables and telemedicine providers, the insurer said.
Page joins the healthcare team from Beazley’s political, accident and contingency team. In that role, he underwrote political violence risks in both Singapore and London for more than eight years. For the past two years, he has written London market contingency risks. Prior to joining Beazley, Page help positions at Chaucer and Brit.
Page will report to Evan Smith, global head of miscellaneous medical liability.
“We are delighted to welcome Andrew to our team,” Smith said. “He is a highly skilled underwriter who brings strong technical and international experience that will help us to develop our offering.”
