AXA XL Insurance has promoted Ana Dores (pictured) to the role of chief underwriting officer for international financial lines for APAC and Europe, effective September 01.
Based in Madrid, Dores will oversee the management of AXA XL’s financial lines portfolio and will be responsible for the underwriting strategy for professional indemnity, management liability, financial institutions, cyber and mergers & acquisitions in Europe, Asia and Australia. She is expected to work closely with local underwriting teams to fulfill her duties.
Dores has 17 years of experience in financial lines underwriting, eight years of which have been spent at AXA XL. She started her career as a financial lines underwriter and later a professional indemnity underwriter at AIG Europe before switching to a senior underwriting role at Liberty Specialty Markets.
Before she transitions to her new role, Dores will continue in her title as the underwriting manager for AXA XL’s international financial lines for Iberia, a role held since 2017.
Etienne Champion, chief underwriting officer for APAC and Europe at AXA AL, said Dores had a “solid reputation within the team” since she entered the company.
“Ana is a respected member of our financial lines business. She has a wealth of knowledge across our product suite,” Champion said. "She is well poised to help us deliver on our goals as we look to continue supporting our clients and profitably grow our portfolio.”
