Aon has appointed Andrew Matson to lead its newly created global portfolio broking team.
The team is under Aon’s recently established Reinsurance Solutions business.
Matson’s new role will involve matching cedents in need of additional or specialist capacity with carriers looking to diversify their current risk profile. He will continue to report to Aon Reinsurance Solutions UK CEO Nick Frankland.
Matson was most recently managing director of the Aon Benfield ReSolutions team. Prior to that, he was a global product leader for Weather Re/Insurance at Aon Benfield, and a reinsurance broker at Guy Carpenter.
According to a release, the Global Portfolio Broking team was established “to build on the work of Aon’s existing facilities, while developing new facilities in line with client demand for global re/insurance risk.”
The Global Portfolio team will be working alongside the equally-new Carrier Solutions group to provide insights into carrier portfolio appetite, guidance on creative treaty structures, and access to various sources of risk capital.
