Aon has announced the appointment of Melissa Cantell as chief executive officer for its New Zealand business. She stepped into the position on July 24.
With her appointment, previous Aon New Zealand CEO Geoff Blampied has formally stepped into his new role as executive chairman for NZ.
Prior to this new role, Cantell served as CEO for Fidelity Life, and she also held a previous role as COO and executive general manager of transformation at IAG NZ. According to her LinkedIn, before her tenure in the insurance industry, Cantell also worked at Coca-Cola Amantil, Fonterra Brands, and Bell Gully.
“Melissa is an accomplished leader and brings to Aon relevant experience that will accelerate our ability to serve client need in New Zealand,” said Anne Corona, Aon Asia Pacific CEO. “Over the coming months, Melissa will travel the country to meet with colleagues across our vast branch network to better understand how Aon can help our clients address their unmet needs and navigate new forms of complexity.
