All Blacks sponsor
AIG used its famous affiliation as a chance to reward its top brokers and key staff plus their families last weekend.
The insurer wanted to put on a corporate hospitality event with a difference by offering employees and brokers a once in a lifetime opportunity to hang out with the world’s best rugby team.
The session involved six All Blacks – Kieren Read, Beauden Barrett, Steven Luatua, Charles Piutau, Brodie Retallick and Tawera Kerr-Barlow – plus four Black Ferns and NZ Women’s Sevens players – Kelly Brazier, Renee Wickliffe, Portia Woodman and Alexis Tapsell – and was MC’ed by Nua Finau from Small Blacks TV.
The players mingled with brokers from firms such as
Aon,
Marsh, Willis,
JLT and
Crombie Lockwood, and signed autographs before taking the children on the field to demonstrate some training skills.
They were also happy to field questions, mainly from the children, on subjects such as what was in their lunchbox as a kid, the most memorable game they’ve played, where they like to travel, who’s the worst roommate and their favourite song - no doubt a lot easier to answer than some of the intense press conferences they’ve experienced in the past.
AIG New Zealand acting general manager Debbie Wilson said the event was a huge success.
“We wanted to give our key brokers the opportunity to socialise with AIG in an environment that is quite different from the usual corporate hospitality and to create a fun and memorable experience that they could share with their families.
“The event ran smoothly and the feedback we have received so far has been fantastic – it’s definitely ‘mission accomplished’ from our perspective.”
