AIA New Zealand has snagged three group nominations at the Financial Services Council 2023 Awards including a new category that celebrates sustainability practices.
The insurer has been nominated for the excellence in sustainability practices award, excellence in wellbeing and inclusion award, and team of the year award. In addition, Doune Connett, who recently stepped down as AIA NZ’s chief risk officer, has been nominated for the prestigious chairman’s award for service to the industry, a category that also includes industry stalwart and Partners Life founder Naomi Ballantyne.
According to a news release, the award winners will be announced at the FSC Awards Dinner as part of the organization’s Building Consumer Confidence Conference on Aug. 16.
“We’ve received the most entries we’ve had in the last 5 years for our FSC Awards,” FSC CEO Richard Klipin said. “It is heartening to see so much great work that the financial services sector has driven over the past year, and the efforts our peers have made to grow the financial confidence and wellbeing of New Zealanders.”
Other insurance industry firms up for distinctions include Mercer NZ (contribution to community award, emerging trailblazer award for Angela Meyer, team of the year award), Fidelity Life (emerging trailblazer award for Leigh Bennett), Asteron Life (team of the year award), and Aon Life, Health, and Benefits (team of the year award).
