Earlier this year, AIA conducted its NZ Adviser Wellbeing Research and extended its Best Doctors service offering to advisers in need. The new AIA MyCare portal includes all of the features previously available through the Best Doctors portal but is linked via the relationship with AIA to offer a better user experience, the insurer said.
“AIA MyCare is a virtual care service that provides you and your immediate family with the appropriate expert care when you need it the most,” said Sam Tremethick, AIA NZ’s chief partnership officer. “It is available should any of our advisers or corporate partners be unsure about a diagnosis, need assistance in selecting treatment or help with an existing condition, require mental health support, or have any general medical questions.”
One of AIA MyCare’s features is the Ask a Mental Health Clinician service, where mental health questions can be submitted confidentially, and, within 24 hours, a mental health specialist will respond with general mental health advice and guidance. There is also the Ask a GP option, where users can submit basic medical questions online via AIA MyCare, and a NZ-based GP will provide an answer in writing within 24 hours.
The Mental Health Navigator feature offers virtual access to a network of multidisciplinary New Zealand-registered and -licensed expert clinicians, without the need for an in-person consultation. Assessment is completed via video consultations with a mental health nurse, and is reviewed by a psychiatrist and/or psychologist who can modify the diagnosis and treatment plans, ensuring patients can make informed decisions backed by expert opinion.
“If you have previously registered under the Best Doctors portal, you’ll know firsthand how invaluable this service can be,” Tremethick said. “We ask that you re-register now under AIA MyCare to ensure a more personalised service going forward. It should take less than five minutes to sign up or re-register and will mean you can continue to receive this expert medical care and support.”
