Agile Underwriting Services has officially launched operations in New Zealand, marking a significant milestone as the company introduces its Lloyd’s syndicate to the local market. With the establishment of Agile Insurance Group NZ, the Australian-based company is set to enhance its capabilities in serving New Zealand businesses across general accident, health, casualty, and professional lines.
“The establishment of our presence in New Zealand is a significant advance in the development of Agile’s capability and market offering,” said Robin Barham, CEO of Agile. “The strength of our Pacific presence combined with our innovative IT platforms demonstrate a continuation of our drive to expand our offerings and support our New Zealand customers.”
The New Zealand branch strengthens Agile’s position within the Lloyd’s market in the Pacific region, setting the stage for future geographical growth, a news release highlighted.
Mark Hunt, the lead underwriter of the syndicate with over four decades of industry experience, highlighted the potential impact of Agile’s expansion on the insurance market in New Zealand.
“We see the New Zealand market as a critical element in our development, and this ground-breaking initiative offers bespoke new capacity options and access to Agile’s adaptive solutions that reflect the region’s unique demands,” said Hunt.
Earlier this year, Agile announced its first Lloyd’s syndicate – Agile Underwriting Services Syndicate AUS 2427.
Agile has a direct partner portal for brokers and retailers. This portal enables the distribution of niche insurance products across more than 15 lines of business, including accident and health (A+H), aviation, casualty, cyber, financial lines, and travel. Agile’s distribution-agnostic approach allows it to reach clients through broker networks, directly online, or via insurer-approved platforms for third-party MGAs and distribution partners.
