Accuro Health Insurance has announced it achieved 40% growth in 2018, claiming it is the only health insurer to experience “real growth.”
Last year, the insurer recorded almost 5,000 more people taking out insurance cover. It described the record growth as an “exceptional result in the current market conditions.”
“It is way above the industry average and I believe is down to our focus on customer experience and innovation,” Accuro Health Insurance chief executive officer Geoff Annals said. “We have proved we can deliver what people actually want; simple, quick, hassle-free, underwritten health insurance that allows people to arrange things easily and get on with their busy lives.”
Accuro also mentioned a number of awards it received in 2018, including being recognised as having a higher proportion of happy customers in the Consumer Magazine health insurance survey and the Innovation of the Year prize at the New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards.
“We’re not resting on our laurels either,” Annals noted. “We are also putting the health back in health insurance; Accuro is developing active benefits as part of everyday cover. So far that includes access to 50,000 worldwide specialists through Best Doctors, free bowel screening and early skin cancer detection.”
“There’s more to come,” he added.
