ACC has added a new member to its board in Ali’imuamua (Sandra) Alofivae (pictured above), who will join the firm’s May board meeting.
An experienced community leader and lawyer, Alofivae was one of the founders of law firm King Alofivae Malosi in 1994. Since 2005, she has been a barrister sole. Alofivae was appointed a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2016 for services to the Pacific community and youth.
In 2018, Alofivae was appointed as a commissioner of the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry. She is chair of the South Auckland Social Well-Being Board and Affirming Works, a not-for-profit social enterprise. She has previously been a commissioner of the Families Commission, member of the Counties Manukau District Health Board, and a board member of Housing New Zealand.
“I welcome Sandra to the ACC board and look forward to her contribution to the direction of ACC,” ACC board chair Steve Maharey said.
The board is also composed of deputy chair Tracey Batten and members Bella Takiari-Brame, Patrick Bowler, Helen Nott, Mark Cross and David Hunt.
