ACC has appointed Andy Milne as deputy chief executive of strategy, engagement and planning, effective Oct. 17.
Milne will head the strategy, engagement and planning group within ACC, which will be established on July 4. The group will be responsible for the development and implementation of ACC’s strategy, through activities that support continuous improvement of the organisation and enterprise planning. It encompasses ACC’s strategy and customer insights, enterprise planning, government engagement, customer engagement, and performance and intelligence functions.
Milne will join ACC from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, where he is currently the deputy secretary for Managed Isolation and Quarantine programme. Prior to that, Milne was deputy national commissioner at the Department of Corrections.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Milne spent many years at the British police, where he was a senior officer investigating fatal road crashes. This experience, ACC said, makes him particularly passionate about ACC’s accident prevention focus.
“With Andy’s diverse background and expertise, from strategy development and planning through to crisis management, I know he’ll be a great fit for this role, which has a strong focus on joining up strategy with execution and helping ACC make sound decisions and engage effectively,” said ACC chief executive Megan Main. “He brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach, which aligns well with how we work at ACC.”
