The New Zealand Automobile Association (AA) has launched a new suite of pet insurance products.
AA, in partnership with Allianz Partners, has rolled out three cover options for our furry friends. Essentials offers basic coverage, Comprehensive provides the highest level of benefits available, while Accident only provides coverage for exactly that. All three cover options offer a 20% co-payment schedule where AA Pet Insurance provides an 80% refund of eligible treatment costs up to the claim limit.
“The reality is that owners can feel pushed into making tough decisions when faced with hefty costs if a pet is sick or injured,” AA general manager Mark Savage said. “We want to help pet lovers cover the cost of those unexpected vet bills.”
Savage explained that, under the Essentials and Comprehensive policies, AA will pay up to $200 towards advertising costs and a maximum of $400 for rewards contributions.
“We also offer Starter Cover for puppies and kittens between eight and 20 weeks old with no premiums to pay and only $100 excess per event, so that owners can take the time to really look at what fits their budget, and what they’re not prepared to do without,” he added.
