AA Insurance has supported four New Zealand charities ahead of the Christmas holiday, with donations totalling $40,000.
The organisations that received gifts of $10,000 each are: Age Concern New Zealand, which supports and upholds the rights of older New Zealanders; Hamilton’s The People Project and Auckland City Mission, which both help people and families in desperate need; and KidsCan, which provides Kiwi children with the essentials they need to succeed in their education.
“We know the holiday season is traditionally a tough time for many Kiwis, and given how difficult 2020 has been, we wanted to support our communities a little earlier in the lead up to Christmas,” said Nikki Howell, general manager of people & capability, AA Insurance.
“We’ve chosen to contribute to four organisations in our community that are helping those in need and are feeling additional pressure on their services because of the impact of COVID-19.”
The insurer also announced it will support the Eat My Lunch campaign by providing 850 lunches for Kiwi children through AA Insurance’s year-end festivities.
“We’ve been humbled by the response of these organisations; they tell us our contribution will go a long way to helping others in need and helping to support them in the future,” said Howell. “It’s been a particularly rough year for both young and old, so we’re pleased to be able to make a difference in this way and show that we genuinely care by giving back at this time of need.”
