AMI has received the title of Canstar’s car insurer of the year, along with an outstanding value award win.
The judges selected AMI for the top honour due to its comprehensive policy, offering an array of features at a price significantly below the market average.
Paula ter Brake, AMI EGM for consumer brands, said that it has been a busy year for the insurer, particularly with the extreme weather events in the opening months of 2023.
“We continue to lead the way for general insurance in New Zealand and these awards are fantastic recognition of the work our team does every day to put our customers first. For car insurance alone, we settled over 100,000 car claims in the last year and paid out over $260 million to customers,” ter Brake said in a news release.
Canstar New Zealand general manager Jose George also highlighted the significance of insurance in Kiwis' lives, emphasizing their price sensitivity in purchasing decisions. He commended AMI for its competitive pricing and outstanding features, instilling confidence in customers.
Canstar's assessment involved an expert panel evaluating 13 providers and 13 products using a meticulous methodology that considers products, features, and customer satisfaction.
Earlier this year, AA Insurance also made headlines for bagging Canstar’s inaugural home and contents insurer of the year award, a distinction that it won after posting outstanding value ratings across the insurance line.
