Veteran returns as chief underwriter of AIA/Sovereign

AIA/Sovereign has announced Stephen Potter as its new chief underwriter. Potter re-joins AIA/Sovereign after working for AMP and Fidelity Life.

Potter’s nearly three decades of insurance expertise means the AIA/Sovereign underwriting team “will be well-placed to help make New Zealand one of the healthiest and most protected countries in the world,” according to AIA/Sovereign chief customer officer Sharron-Moana Botica.

“Stephen first joined Sovereign back in 1989, and as such was one of the ‘originals’ at the company,” she said. “He’s told me that he’s incredibly excited about the opportunity, given the innovation and strategic focus that we are applying to underwriting, as we develop AIA/Sovereign’s market leadership in this area.”

Potter takes up his new role on January 15.
