MSIG Insurance Singapore has introduced a new travel insurance product, TravelEasy Flex, designed to offer modular protection aligned with changing consumer demands for customisable and cost-efficient travel insurance coverage.
The rollout follows an internal survey conducted by the insurer, which found that Singaporean travellers, regardless of age, consistently prioritised protection against overseas medical costs, travel disruptions such as flight delays, loss or theft of baggage, and the option to cancel trips for personal reasons.
The survey also highlighted a growing preference for policies that allow users to tailor coverage based on their needs and budgets.
TravelEasy Flex features a three-tiered structure, enabling customers to select a base plan from a range of insured limits. More than 30 benefits are available across the plans. The product starts at $9 for basic coverage and includes additional flexibility through optional modules.
Optional benefits include coverage for:
Additionally, TravelEasy Flex includes a revised delayed departure benefit, where compensation is activated after a four-hour delay.
Discounted rates are available for group policies with three or more travellers. The product also offers reduced premiums for child coverage, making it a viable option for family trips.
Steven Leong, senior vice president for retail distribution at MSIG Singapore, said the insurer developed TravelEasy Flex in response to the demand for personalisation in travel protection products.
“We’ve observed that customers prefer customising their travel insurance and paying for only what they need. TravelEasy Flex appeals to the modern travellers seeking flexibility and value for money,” he said.
As outbound travel continues to rebound, flexible solutions like TravelEasy Flex can better support this shift in consumer expectations, he added.
To mark the launch, MSIG is offering promotional pricing throughout April 2025: a 60% discount on single-trip policies and a 25% discount on annual coverage.
