Lotte Insurance has launched a travel insurance product for foreign tourists visiting Korea. Developed in partnership with Creatrip, a Seoul-based travel information platform, the product is subscription-based and can easily be accessed in the Creatrip app for tourists entering the country.
Integrated with Creatrip’s application, tourists can subscribe to the insurance by typing in their information, such as travel period, passport number, name, gender, and others. The services are specialised, and in the event of an accident, a policyholder can easily make a claim through their mobile device or email before leaving Korea.
According to a news release from The Korea Times, major documents pertaining to the insurance terms and conditions will be available in six languages including English, Japanese, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese. More languages are planned to be included in the future.
Lotte Insurance’s partnership with the platform comes as Creatrip recently exploded in popularity amongst foreigners as a diverse service provider for those visiting Seoul and other major attractions. As of March, the number of monthly active users on its website and application topped 1.5 million.
Elsewhere in the country, Chubb Korea recently partnered with Korean Air to collaborate on domestic and overseas travel insurance offerings.
