Kwoon Chung Bus Holdings Limited has collaborated with YAS to offer embedded travel insurance as part of its cross-border bus services between Hong Kong and Mainland China.

The partnership integrates travel protection with ticketing and membership purchases, aiming to enhance passenger safety and convenience.

Travel protection via WeChat Mini Program

Passengers purchasing memberships or travel points through the “Hong Kong-Mainland Express” WeChat Mini Program now receive complimentary travel insurance for their first trip.

This embedded coverage, underwritten by Generali Hong Kong, is delivered by YAS and reflects the growing adoption of technology-enabled insurance solutions in Asia.

William Lee (pictured right), co-founder of YAS, emphasised the potential of this collaboration to simplify insurance access for travellers.

“At YAS, our mission is to provide the fastest, simplest embedded insurance experience, empowering fellow citizens to start their journeys with peace of mind. This collaboration with Kwoon Chung marks just the beginning of a new era in cross-border travel, and we are dedicated to driving further innovation to crown Hong Kong as the global insurance pioneer, making insurance smarter, more accessible, and more convenient,” he said.

Retail discounts complement travel coverage

To further enrich the travel experience, the program offers members discounts at over 50 retail outlets in Hong Kong.

The initiative, branded “Double Delight,” involves partnerships with retailers including Maxim's, Kee Wah Bakery, Catalo, Hang Lung Properties, and the hello Hang Lung Malls Rewards Program.

Travellers can access the offers while exploring Hong Kong’s various districts.

Boosting regional tourism in the Greater Bay Area

The collaboration aligns with broader efforts to drive tourism growth within the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Kwoon Chung and YAS are exploring additional opportunities to strengthen cross-border travel infrastructure and promote economic activity in the region.

Timothy Wong, COO of Kwoon Chung Group, highlighted the dual benefits of safety and convenience provided by the initiative.

“YAS’s embedded travel insurance not only offers travellers valuable protection but enhances their safety and convenience. We look forward to supporting Greater Bay Area tourism, creating a superior travel experience for all,” he said.
