Specialist and corporate insurer Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) has promoted Alex Dugand to regional managing director, Asia.
The appointment is effective immediately and Dugand will report to TMK chief executive Charles Franks.
In his new role, Dugand will oversee TMK’s Asian business, consisting of the Singapore, Hong Kong, and mainland China markets. Kin Lau, country head for Hong Kong, and Susanna Quek, country head for Singapore, will report to him.
Prior to the promotion, Dugand was regional underwriting director for TMK’s Asia division for two years. He first joined TMK over a decade ago as a reinsurance underwriter.
“I am delighted to announce Alex’s promotion to the role of regional managing director, Asia,” commented Franks. “Alex is an accomplished underwriter whose regional market expertise, skill in building profitable books of business and ability to foster collaboration between our Asia teams and international offices have been core drivers of growth for TMK.
“Vast infrastructure investments have significantly increased the need for specialist insurance products in the Hong Kong, Singapore and China markets. Alex’s leadership, combined with our suite of products, means we are ideally placed to respond to these market developments and harness opportunities in this thriving region.”
