QIC Group and Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance Inc. (SJNKI) have agreed to create a knowledge exchange program to enhance both insurers’ global capabilities.
As a prelude to the formal agreement, SJNKI sent staff to QIC’s Qatar headquarters last year to attend training sessions to enhance technical skills, exchange experiences, and promote adoption of best practices.
The program’s goal was to improve participants’ knowledge of various fields of insurance, digitized retail platforms, and communication with a multi-cultural workforce and customer base in the Middle East, according to a representative of QIC.
“We wish to foster this growing relationship and take it to its next stage of its evolution,” said Abdulla Al Mulla, chief administrative officer of QIC Group. “It would be our way of cementing the partnership between the two business powerhouses.”
“By implementing the QIC-Sompo knowledge exchange program for our local staff we wish to empower our national talent by providing multi-faceted approaches to learning,” he added. “Besides this, they can also gain an overarching experience and understanding of working in a different environment and imbibe the best of both cultures.”
