HSBC Insurance Hong Kong is adding genetic health screening to its menu of services as part of its thrust to enhance its protection solutions by knowing more about its clients.
The new service, named ONEdna, augments the insurer’s current advantages, which include flexible premium payment options, whole-of-life protection, and additional critical illness cover to help protect policyholders at all life stages.
ONEdna also has an optional hereditary cancer screening which can identify the genetic mutations which could lead to eight common cancers: ovarian, colorectal, pancreatic, breast, melanoma, prostate, uterine, and stomach.
The service will be provided by Prenetics, a leading Hong Kong-based genetic testing company.
“The most important asset people have is their health – as such we believe that providing ONEdna to our customers will give them additional information to help them better manage their health risks,” Edward Moncreiffe, interim CEO and head of distribution at HSBC Insurance Hong Kong, told
