Generali Asia has appointed Dr Hak Hong Soo as its regional head of health for Asia. He will report directly to Roberto Leonardi, Asia regional officer.
Soo will be based in Generali’s regional hub in Hong Kong and will be responsible for growing Generali’s health insurance business and widening its presence in the region. The Italy-based insurer is currently present in 10 Asian markets: mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
He has more than 20 years of professional experience in both insurance and reinsurance across Asia, operating in diverse markets such as Greater China, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. He specialises in life and health product development, actuarial pricing, product strategy, and health business management.
Soo joins Generali from
Munich Re, where he held various senior management roles in the Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan markets. Earlier in his career, he was the chief actuary of PT AJ Sequis Life in Indonesia.
