Cross, with over two decades of industry experience, has served as the interim regional head of property since June 30 this year. His career has encompassed various roles in underwriting and risk engineering, affording him a well-rounded understanding of multiple lines of insurance coverage.
His journey with Allianz commenced in 2016 when he joined as a senior underwriter and regional practice group leader for chemicals, pharma, and F&B. In this role, he provided expertise in referral and technical underwriting, along with risk assessment support for the Asia Pacific region.
In November 2019, Cross assumed the position of regional head of Allianz Risk Consulting, actively contributing to the strategic initiatives of the line of business. This included championing risk consulting as a client value proposition and spearheading specific initiatives related to customer centricity. Notably, he led the ARC Voice of Customer (VoC) program, designed to collect actionable insights from customers after key interactions, with the aim of enhancing customer excellence and service delivery.
In his new role, he will report directly to Christian Sandric, regional managing director, Asia, and maintain a matrix reporting line to Michael Martin, global head of property.
Elsewhere for the insurance group, Allianz Commercial also recently appointed Claudia Valencia as its first-ever global head of portfolio solutions.
