Sun Life has announced the appointment of Patrick Wei as the chief distribution officer for Asia, effective Dec. 1.
In this role, Wei will steer Sun Life Asia's distribution strategy, collaborating with distribution leaders across the region to enhance the function with a focus on excellence, quality, and digital innovation.
Wei brings over three decades of experience in insurance distribution within the Asian market to his new role at Sun Life. He has held significant positions at Aviva, where he was instrumental in leading multi-channel distribution strategies and growth in bancassurance partnerships. Additionally, he played a key role in the joint development of Aviva's digital business in Asia.
Wei is a graduate of Simon Fraser University in Canada, holding a bachelor's degree in business administration, with a focus on accounting and economics.
