Prudential has announced the appointment of Arjan Toor (pictured above) as the new CEO of its health business, set to commence on Feb. 1.
This appointment comes as part of Prudential's strategic business transformation, which was unveiled last August. The overhaul of the health business represents one of the three strategic pillars outlined in the company's roadmap, aimed at accelerating value creation for stakeholders.
Toor's role as CEO health will entail complete financial and operational responsibility for Prudential’s health business. His leadership will involve overseeing a network of chief health officers and collaborating with the company's 24 markets to enhance business growth and create operational leverage across the entire value chain.
With over 27 years of experience in leadership positions across various global regions, including Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America, Toor brings a wealth of expertise to his new role at Prudential. He joins from Cigna Europe, a major global health services company, where he served as CEO.
Before joining Cigna, Toor spent 15 years with the Dutch financial services firm ING, where he held numerous marketing leadership roles. His focus was on developing innovative customer propositions and delivering personalised customer experiences.
Toor succeeds Andrew Wong, Prudential's former group chief health officer, who is departing to pursue non-executive opportunities. Based in Singapore, Toor will report directly to Solmaz Altin, the managing director of the Strategic Business Group at Prudential.
“Our health business is a key part of our strategy going forward. Arjan brings with him a depth and wealth of experience that I have no doubt will help us as we seek to become our customers’ most trusted partner throughout their healthcare journey,” Altin said.
