Lloyd’s global re/insurer MS Amlin has announced the appointment of Clare Constable as the chief claims officer, a newly established position within the company. This appointment is set to take effect from Jan. 1, subject to regulatory approval.
Constable joined MS Amlin as head of claims in November 2022 and has since implemented several significant changes to the company's claims services. Notably, she has been instrumental in introducing a new claims service philosophy and deploying an AI-powered claims triage tool. These initiatives aim to enhance response times for brokers and clients.
With over two decades of experience in specialty and reinsurance claims, Constable brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. She previously held the position of claims director at HDI Global Specialty (HDI) and prior to that, served as head of open market and reinsurance claims at Canopius.
In this new role, Constable will report to Andrew Carrier, the chief executive officer of MS Amlin.
“Clare is a gifted leader, who has already helped us to further enhance our claims proposition and performance. Her new role is part of a deliberate strategy to continue to bring claims and underwriting teams closer together, creating a more joined up market-facing proposition for brokers and clients. This can help us to leverage the team’s respective strengths when dealing with business placement and responding to major claims. I look forward to continuing to work with Clare, as we build a trusted, market-leading claims service,” Carrier said.
