HDI Global SE Singapore has expanded into the accident and health market in Asia with the appointment of Lisa Leow as underwriting manager, effective immediately.
Leow brings over two decades of experience in the insurance industry to her new role at HDI. Her career includes positions at Starr Insurance Companies as head of accident and health, along with previous roles at QBE Asia and Zurich. She also spent over ten years at AIG in various capacities.
Her extensive background in accident and health insurance across Singapore and Asia positions her to spearhead HDI's new business line in the Singapore branch, the company said.
HDI Global's current portfolio in Asia includes property, casualty, engineering, marine cargo, power and energy, and political and credit risk. The Singapore branch serves as a key hub for the Southeast Asian market, reinforcing HDI's global presence. Leow's addition to the team introduces accident and health to HDI's range of services.
Leow will report to both Graham Silton, HDI Singapore managing director and principal officer, and Chris McDowell, underwriting manager for accident and health Australasia at HDI Global SE in Sydney.
“I am delighted to welcome Lisa to HDI, with her proven track record and capabilities, she will be invaluable to the business as we enter the Asian accident and health market. I am very much looking forward to working with Lisa as we expand our product offering to our clients and brokers across the region,” Stilton said.
“We are delighted that with Lisa we have gained a proven expert to position HDI Global as a reliable partner in the accident and health sector in Asia. HDI offers a broad range of accident and health products, with a strong proposition in international programmes for global clients. A company’s most important asset is their people. We are an experienced partner to help our clients manage their accident and health risks globally,” McDowell said.
